We invite proposals for workshops to be collocated with the SIGMOD/PODS 2017 conference. Workshops will run on May 14 and if needed also on May 19, and can last for half a day or full day.
Logistics and Organizational Support
The organizers of accepted workshops are required to announce the workshop and call for papers, solicit submissions, conduct the reviewing process, and decide upon the final workshop program that must be published at least two weeks before the early registration deadline. In addition, each workshop must prepare its own proceedings. The publishing company is at the discretion of the workshop chairs, but all proceedings must be submitted for inclusion in the ACM Digital Library. Publication of calls for papers and participation as well as eventual workshop reports in SIGMOD Record are encouraged.
The logistics of the workshops will be handled by the SIGMOD 2017 organization. Specifically, the SIGMOD 2017 local organization chairs will work with workshop chairs individually to take care of facilities, catering, and registration for all workshops. To enable this, breaks will be coordinated.
Each workshop receives two free registrations, which are typically used for keynote or invited speakers; the recipients of the free registrations are at the discretion of the workshop chairs, who are requested to send the recipients’ names and contact information to the SIGMOD 2017 local organization and registration chairs.
Submission Guidelines
Proposal evaluation criteria include the following: relevance to SIGMOD, scientific quality, perceived interest (e.g., previous submission counts), past performance (e.g., publication of the proceedings in the ACM DL), and overlap with other proposals. Workshop proposals and further inquiries should be sent to the SIGMOD 2017 Workshop co-chairs:
Important Dates
All deadlines are at 11:59pm Eastern Daylight Time. The chairs will announce the exact date of each workshop at the time of the acceptance notification.
