The annual ACM SIGMOD conference is a leading international forum for database researchers, practitioners, developers, and users to explore cutting-edge ideas and results, exchange techniques and tools, and share experiences. The conference is co-located with the PODS conference, which focuses on the theoretical aspects of data management.

 

Topics of Interest

SIGMOD 2017 solicits submissions for the following programs and events:

  • Research papers
  • Technical demonstrations
  • Industrial papers
  • Tutorials
  • Panels
  • Student research competition
  • Workshops

We invite submissions of original contributions related to all aspects of data management (defined broadly), and particularly encourage submissions on topics of emerging interest in the research and development communities.

 

Two Cycles for Submission

The submission, review, and notification process will be handled electronically. The detailed calls for contributions, along with submission instructions, will be available at http://www.sigmod2017.org/. This year, there will be two submission dates for research papers:

Research paper 1st cycle
July 15, 2016: Abstract submission
July 22, 2016: Paper submission
September 28, 2016: Notification of accept/revise/reject
October 26, 2016: Revised submission
November 11, 2016: Notification of accept/reject
Feb 1, 2017: Camera-ready deadline

Research paper 2nd cycle
November 4, 2016: Abstract submission
November 11, 2016: Paper submission
January 27, 2017: Notification of accept/revise/reject
February 22, 2017: Revised submission
March 9, 2017: Notification of accept/reject
March 19, 2017: Camera-ready deadline

 

Conference Location

SIGMOD 2017 will be held in Raleigh, North Carolina, USA from May 14 to 19, 2017. The conference venue is located in downtown Raleigh, a blossoming metropolis in the southeastern United States. The region’s bright minds head top-tier technology, education, and life science institutions; its artists create a bevy of cultural and culinary touchstones; and its storytellers proudly carry on the collective heritage of a rich, historic capital city.
